COVID-19 testing is free if you're uninsured, but if you test positive and have a serious case, you may incur large costs for treatment without insurance. If you’ve recently experienced a job loss, loss of income, or other life-changing event, you might qualify for a 60-day Special Enrollment period, which will allow you to sign up for a new health insurance plan or to change your current plan.
